    Dr. Sanjay Sharma, a Professor of Ophthalmology and Epidemiology at Queen's University, is the author of over 150 scientific articles that appear in the peer-reviewed literature and 3 books including the American Medical Association Press's Evidence Based to Value Based Medicine.

He is co-medical director of the Misericordia Lion’s Eye Bank of Manitoba. He has worked overseas with Orbis and Seva Canada. These projects involved cataract surgery in under-serviced areas, as well as training in corneal transplantation and cataract surgery. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba in the Dept of Ophthalmology and is chair of the cornea section for University of Manitoba's ophthalmology residency program.

    Following undergraduate studies at the University of Regina, Dr. MacDonald graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1992. Since that time, he has been engaged in full-scope private practice in Waterloo. Upon graduation, Dr. MacDonald stayed involved with the School of Optometry, acting as a clinical supervisor in the Ocular Health Clinic, and sat on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, culminating in a two-year term serving as it's President. Dr. MacDonald is on the Council of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and is a founding member of the Eye Health Council of Ontario (EHCO).

    Dr. ten Hove is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Queen's University. Dr ten Hove, who specializes in Neuro-Ophthalmology, completed his post-graduate medical education at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.     Dr. Chevrier is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa, and Chief of Ophthalmology at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, where he specializes in Glaucoma and Anterior Segment surgery. He completed his post-graduate medical education at Queen’s University, and a fellowship in Glaucoma at the University of Montreal. He has authored or co-authored several articles that have appeared in the peer-reviewed literature, and has a special interest in optic nerve head imaging. He sits on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, and is a corresponding member of the Ophthalmology Examination Board for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

  • Michael Kalloniatis

    OD, PhD

    Professor Kalloniatis is an optometrist graduating from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and has a PhD in visual psychophysics (University of Houston, USA). His research has focused on retinal anatomy and neurochemistry in both the normal and diseased rodent retina. Professor Kalloniatis is a highly experienced optometrists with a range of academic and research experience who has maintained clinical practice throughout his career. His is currently director of the Centre for Eye Health, located on the Kensington Campus of the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia). He also holds a number of national competitive grants investigating inherited retinal dystrophies (rodent models) and effectiveness of glaucoma diagnosis in a clinical setting.

  • Rob Campbell

    Dr. Campbell is a Professor and Deputy Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Queen's University. Dr. Campbell studied medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa, where he was gold medallist and valedictorian. Dr. Campbell undertook post-redisency fellowship training in glaucoma surgery at the University of Toronto and cornea surgery at Moorefields Eye Hospital in London, England. Dr. Campbell is an adjunct scientist for the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences and leads a CIHR funded program focused on the assessment of eye and vision health care quality, access and safety.

  • Fiona Stapelton

    Fiona Stapleton PhD MCOptom FAAO is a Professor at the University of New South Wales in Sydney and Head of School of Optometry and Vision Science. She received her PhD in 1991 from City University and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London for her research on the pathogenesis and epidemiology of contact lens-related disease and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at University College London. She holds numerous memberships and executive affiliations with clinical and research organisations, is a regular reviewer for a range of journals, belongs to the international editorial board of four journals, has over 150 peer-reviewed publications, has contributed 15 chapters to textbooks and published a book on the diagnosis and management of anterior segment disease
